It is recommended for patients who need a comprehensive evaluation of iron metabolism, those who have been diagnosed with anemia and wish to identify the underlying cause, and those who require monitoring of treatment effectiveness. It includes measurements of total serum iron, transferrin and its saturation, ferritin, and total iron binding capacity (TIBC) to detect deficiencies, transport issues, or storage problems related to anemia or iron imbalance.
